Subin Hahn is a Gender Fluid Wear designer who aims to reinforce the true personalities that exist inside of the individuals, while embracing his or her own ambiguity, regardless of gender, ethnicity and background.
Subin’s early memories are of him playing dressed up as a princess as a young boy who grew up with watching a lot of Disney movies. He would often make dresses using fabric scraps and scarves from his mom’s wardrobe. He always desired to dress to express his inner femininity, which led to his interest in fashion design.
Subin was born and raised in South Korea. He studied apparel design while attending Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea. He moved to New York City at the age of 19 to continue study fashion design at Parsons School of Design. He gained professional experience as design intern for Zac Posen, Marchesa, and recently Calvin Klein.
Based on his belief that art is a spiritual activity that conveys one’s faith and belief, he aims to help the wearers bring out their own inner spirits through his designs, and to provide hope of a better future, by creating an illusion of a world that he wishes to belong with.
